Juan de Dios Magdaleno (Mexico 1984) completed his Bachelors Degree in Composition at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the tuition of Fabio Nieder and Richard Ayres. In 2014, Juan de Dios completed with honors a Master’s Degree in Composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz under the guidance of Pierluigi Billone and Gerd Kühr. During 2014 – 2015 he followed postgraduate studies with Beat Furrer at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria. He currently takes part of the CURSUS 1 at IRCAM and is a resident at the Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris, France.
Juan de Dios Magdaleno took part in the special workshop Choir and Electronics that was organized in collaboration with Sibelius Academy. He wrote: [to take part in the workshop] would give me the possibility to enrich, explore and challenge the way I think about the interaction musicians-computer, among other notable paradigms involved in the creation of “mixed music”.
